The Louisiana Marathon

We got our start as coaches so developing training plans has always been a part of the FRESHJUNKIE Racing DNA.  This year we are proud to offer two different training plans tailored to the events by the team that built the courses.  

Tier One is a no-nonsense, get you to the finish line plan for those who just want to take the guesswork out of their daily runs.  These plans are mileage based with one workout per week focussing on running endurance and improving economy.  You will be emailed your plan with 16 weeks to go and receive our runner’s daily nutrition plan as well as a race fueling plan.  This is great for beginners who want to bite off their first race but don’t know where to start. This plan starts with 3 runs per week and will culminate with 4 runs per week.

YOU WILL RECEIVE YOUR PLAN September 30th.  YOUR PLAN WILL START October 28th

Tier Two is our Training Peaks based plan.  This plan is for beginner to intermediate runners who have raced before and are looking to improve upon their performance.  It’s a 16-week plan that will live on the Training Peaks platform.  These plans start with one workout per week and 3 runs, and will culminate with 4 runs per week.  There will also be cross-training and strength workouts as well.  You will receive a basic Training Peaks account for free. Then we will email you a code to create your account and load your plan 20 weeks out from the start of the plan.  Training Peaks is the industry standard and you will be able to link your workouts as well as analyze and track how you’re progressing.  You will also get invited to a closed Facebook Group that will serve as a sounding board for encouragement, answering your training questions, as well as information on other dimensions of your training (i.e. articles on stretching, cross-training, nutrition, race fueling, etc.). This group will be monitored by Pat Fellows and the FJR team which has over 20 years of coaching and race experience.
